2022 Intergenerational Arbitration Symposium (IGAS)

About this event

11 February 2022 from 16:00 until 19:20

The Intergenerational Arbitration Symposium (IGAS) is an event organized by Professors Diego P. Fernández Arroyo (Sciences Po Law School) and Franco Ferrari (NYU Law School), which is meant to offer an opportunity to confront the visions of young professionals at the beginning of their careers (the Speakers) with those of experienced practitioners (the Debaters) on pressing issues in arbitration. Each Speaker addresses a particular problem and/or experience dealing with the given panel topic for no more than 10 minutes. The Debaters will comment on the Speakers’ remarks and pose questions.

In this second edition, the event will be held in hybrid format in both New York and Paris on 11 February 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:20 PM (Paris Time), 10:00 AM to 1:20 PM (New York Time). The topics chosen for this year's panels are: "The increasing institutional power in arbitration", "Evolving arbitration law: uniformization trends and their limits", "Common and civil law in the framing of arbitration law".

Beyond several Speakers composed of alumni from NYU Law School and Sciences Po Law School, the event will host Carine Dupeyron (Darrois), Pierre Tercier (University of Fribourg, em.), and Peter Rosher (Reed Smith). as Debaters.
