Biography

Pieter-Augustijn Van Malleghem is associate professor at Sciences Po Law School.

He defended a PhD thesis on the principle of proportionality at the Faculty of Law of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and an SJD thesis on legal realism in the United States and Europe at Harvard Law School. Pieter-Augustijn studied law, philosophy and economics at the universities of Namur and Leuven, at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics as well as Harvard Law School. He was a Max Planck Fellow of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public and International Law in Heidelberg. Pieter-
Augustijn is the principal investigator of the ERC Starting Grant FEDMONEY on the law and politics of money. He is a member of the editorial board of the Cahiers de droit européen. Prior to joining Sciences Po, he was a professor at UCLouvain.
