Biography
Aldo de Cesare is a PhD candidate at Sciences Po Law School, where he is developing a thesis on monetary law with a focus on the European Union. In his current research, he investigates how legal rules construct spatially traceable hierarchies within currency areas, examining the legal design of monetary policy instruments from both a historical and a comparative perspective. He’s particularly interested in exploring whether alternative legal approaches could support more inclusive forms of economic development.
More broadly, his research interests include guardian institutions, EU economic law, constitutional pluralism, and critical legal theories.
Prior to joining Sciences Po, he graduated in Law at the University of Milano-Bicocca and spent the first year of his PhD at the UCLouvain Centre Charles De Visscher pour le droit international et européen (Belgium). Aldo is a member of the Fedmoney project.
