Biography
Israa Albinfalah is a PhD candidate at Sciences Po Law School, under the supervision of Professor Helena Alviar García. She holds both a Master’s degree in Economic Law (2026) and a Bachelor’s degree from Sciences Po.
Her academic interests span international law, comparative law, legal history, and translation studies, with particular attention to the circulation of legal concepts across languages and legal traditions.
Her doctoral project conceptualises translation as juridical negotiation, exploring how legal meaning is transformed as it moves between different linguistic and normative worlds. Through a critical, comparative, and multilingual approach, she investigates the role of translation in the production and distribution of legal authority in international law.
