Alexandre Senegacnik, Special Mention of the Jury of the Suzanne Bastid Prize

The Jury of the Prix Suzanne Bastid of the French Society for International Law awarded a special mention to Alexandre Senegacnik >for his doctoral thesis entitled "La critique de l’interprétation des traités de protection des investissements étrangers : la volte-face de l’Arlequin", directed by professors Diego P. Fernández Arroyo and Emmanuel Gaillard, defended at Sciences Po Law School in December 2019.

Alexandre pursued his research as a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School in New York (US) the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg (Germany), Kyoto University (Japan), the National University of Singapore (Singapore) as well as the Max Planck Institute for International European and Regulatory Procedural Law (Luxembourg).

The Prize of the French Society for International Law, created in 1992, was renamed "Prix Suzanne Bastid" in 1995, in honor of Professor Suzanne Bastid, founder of the Society which she chaired for twenty years, before becoming its honorary president. Professor Suzanne Bastid gave her first courses in international law at the École libre des Sciences Politiques before becoming the first lecturer teaching fundamental course at the Institut d'études politiques.
