Class of 2023

Alessandro is an Italian qualified lawyer. Before joining the TADS LLM, he practised law for five years at a top international law firm in Italy, first in the labour law department and, then, in the litigation & arbitration department. He was admitted to the Bar with the highest grade and, for this reason, he was awarded an Italian prize (Marco Ubertini) held for the best new lawyer. After graduating "magna cum laude" from University of Roma Tre, Rome in 2016, Alessandro was selected, based on academic results, for an 18-month internship at the Italian Supreme Court.

Gustavo is a Chilean-qualified lawyer with 9 years of experience in Dispute Resolution and Public Law.  He is the recipient of the 2022 Bredin Prat Excellence Grant.  Before joining the TADS LL.M. he worked as a legal advisor in the Chilean Ministry of Education (2012-2014), as an associate in Baker McKenzie, Chile (2014-2017), and Aninat, Schwencke & Cía. (2017-2020), and as the head of the Dispute Resolution practice in PAGBAM | Schwencke Chile (2020-2022).  Gustavo served as an Adjunct Instructor Professor, teaching Public Law Advisory, a core course of the LL.B. programme of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2019-2021).  He studied an LL.B. (2012) and a post-graduate diploma in Administrative Litigation (2018) at the same university.  Gustavo is fluent in Spanish and English.

Shanshan is a qualified lawyer in China and Practitioner Instructor in Qingdao University Law School. She achieved Top 9 in the UCLA China Legal Youth-Talent Scholarship Competition and has published dozens of articles in her fields. Prior to joining Sciences Po, Shanshan worked as a lawyer with the corporate and M&A, cross-border investment team of Allbright Law Offices, a top-tier law firm in China that is consistently recommended by Chambers Global, Legal 500, ALB, amongst other rankings. There, she specialised in M&A, private equity, finance and cross-border dispute resolution as well as litigation. Shanshan was entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce to conduct cases under the WTO framework where she served dozens of Fortune 500 clients. Before becoming a lawyer, she was the head of the legal department at a large state-owned enterprise. Shanshan is good at accurately understanding client needs and finding solutions in complex and difficult cases.

Marialena is a Greek lawyer who graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2021. Before enrolling in the TADS LLM, she worked for two years in Lambadarios Law Firm, a top-tier law firm in Athens where she advised clients in energy, construction and corporate issues. During that time, she specialised in arbitration (both domestic and international) as well as commercial litigation. She speaks English and German. Marialena has been awarded the TADS LLM Scholarship.

Jia Yu conducts complex, high stakes international arbitration and litigation before the courts of Singapore. This includes landmark cases before the Singapore Court of Appeal and High Court concerning the annulment and enforcement of both commercial and investor-state arbitral awards.

Smriti is an Indian-qualified lawyer with nearly three years of work experience. Prior to joining Sciences Po, she worked as a legal associate and later was promoted as Quality Control Lead in a legal firm headquartered in London. Smriti worked with CFO’s, CEO’s and GCs of major companies on issues of commercial contracting by providing in-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract agreements and compliance laws. She has also worked with many NGO’s helping victims of sexual commercial exploitation and human trafficking. Smriti graduated from V.M Salgaocar College of Law in 2019 where she participated in myriad International and National ADR competitions. She has represented her University at the Young International Mediation competition in Hong Kong 2017 and won the Best Counsel in the field of Mediation and Negotiation. She also competed in Paris at the 14th International Commercial Mediation Competition in 2019.

Vladislav is a member of the Russian Bar (advocate) with over 7 years of experience in dispute resolution. His main focus areas are international arbitration and cross-border litigation. Prior to the TADS LLM, Vladislav worked as an associate at a top-tier boutique law firm and as an in-house counsel at a bank. The geography of his practice included 13 jurisdictions in different parts of the globe. Vladislav speaks English, French and Russian. He is a recipient of a TADS LLM Scholarship.

Sutikshan is an Indian lawyer with a demonstrated history of working in boutique arbitration law firms dealing with domestic and international arbitration disputes in India. Skilled in arbitration particularly dealing with Government Contracts, Construction Law, Investment disputes, energy and oil sectors, along with commercial litigation, he has represented the Union of India, State of Punjab, and the State of Haryana in various high stake disputes before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts and various Arbitral Tribunals (both institutional and ad-hoc). He graduated from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab and has also completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad before joining the TADS LLM.

Chitransh is an Indian qualified lawyer with two years of experience in commercial arbitration and litigation. He is a recipient of the 2022 Squire Patton Boggs Research Excellence Grant, the 2022-23 Charpak Masters Scholarship from the French Government, and the Sciences Po LLM Scholarship. Before joining the TADS LLM at Sciences Po, he practised at a boutique law firm in New Delhi where he advised various private and government organisations in commercial arbitration arising from construction contracts and shareholders’ agreements. He completed his clerkship under the able guidance of a Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India where he assisted in drafting various arbitral awards. Chitransh is an avid writer, and his research papers have been published in various international arbitration law journals, including SCOPUS indexed journals. He speaks English and basic French.

Esen is a qualified lawyer in Turkey and a Jean Monnet scholar. Before joining the TADS Program, she worked as a teaching assistant for five years at the Department of Private International Law at Istanbul University, where she also studied law. Essen holds an LLM in Private International Law from Istanbul University and has published several articles related to international arbitration, international family law, and conflict of laws rules. She is fluent in English, French, and Turkish.

Yoshie is a Peruvian lawyer with almost 10 years of practical experience in Public Law, Government Contracts, Construction Law, Government Control and Dispute Resolution. Prior to her LLM in Transnational Arbitration & Dispute Settlement at Sciences Po, Yoshie was a Mid-Level Associate and Coordinator of Interns at the Public Law department of Estudio Echecopar, member firm of Baker & Mckenzie International in Peru. In her practice, she counselled private companies, national and foreign, and public entities in important infrastructure projects and public contracts in the country, and acted as legal representative of clients in settlements, arbitrations and administrative procedures.

Tatiana is a dual qualified (Russian and English) lawyer. She worked for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Moscow and London offices), where she advised clients on corporate and finance transactions, as well as financial dispute resolution matters. She also worked as general counsel in an investment firm. Her main areas of interest are M&A, finance and technology disputes, as well as public international law and investor-state arbitration. Tatiana also holds an MBA degree from IE Business School. She speaks English, Russian, Belarusian, Spanish, Italian, as well as basic German and French. She is a recipient of a TADS LLM Scholarship.

Akash is an Indian qualified lawyer with over four years of work experience. He has been awarded the 2021 Squire Patton Boggs Research Excellence Grant. Prior to joining Sciences Po, Akash was a Senior Associate with the dispute resolution team of Khaitan & Co, a top-tier law firm in India, where he specialised in arbitration (international and domestic) and commercial litigation. Akash has advised clients from over twelve countries is more than one hundred and fifty commercial disputes, ad hoc and institutional arbitrations and cross-border disputes. He regularly appeared before the Supreme Court of India, Bombay High Court and Delhi High Court. His focus areas are shareholder disputes, infrastructure and construction disputes, and banking and finance disputes.

Mangesh is an India-qualified disputes resolution lawyer with four years of experience in commercial arbitration and litigation. He is currently an LLM candidate in Sciences Po’s Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement program. He has been awarded the TADS LLM Scholarship. Prior to enrolling at Sciences Po, Mangesh practised with boutique dispute resolution law firms in New Delhi. During this time, he represented industry leaders in high-value ad hoc and institutional arbitrations arising from construction & engineering projects, commercial supply contracts, and shareholders agreements. He also has represented clients, both independently & assisting senior counsels, in civil and commercial litigations before various courts and tribunals in India. Mangesh graduated with a first-class law degree (B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)) from National Law University, Lucknow, India, in 2017.

Lim, who is also known to her peers as Arias, is a dual-qualified lawyer who was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2015 and as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2020. She was awarded the 2021 Bredin Prat Excellence Grant. Prior to enrolling at Sciences Po, Arias was a Senior Associate in K&L Gates Straits Law LLC's complex commercial disputes team, where she worked closely with Mr N Sreenivasan (Senior Counsel) and Mr Muralli Rajaram. Her cases primarily involved breaches of shareholder agreements, breaches of directors' duties and fraud. Arias' practice also frequently involved applying for or resisting urgent commercial injunctions.

Saasha is an Indian-qualified lawyer with four years of experience in commercial arbitration and litigation. She is an internationally accredited civil and commercial mediator and negotiator. She has been awarded the TADS LLM Scholarship and is on the Board of Editors of the Sciences Po Law Review. Prior to Sciences Po, Saasha was a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team of Khaitan & Co (Mumbai), a leading law firm in India, where she advised and represented clients in litigations before the Bombay High Court and Supreme Court, and domestic and international commercial arbitrations (both institutional and ad-hoc). She will be completing her studies at the LLM TADS doing an internship at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in the second semester of 2022.

Alberto has worked as a Consultant at the World Bank (WB) Group since 2018. He has been involved in the study group as Analyst on Enforcing Contracts Indicator for the WB Subnational Doing Business in Italy 2019 Report, as well as Topic Coordinator for the Subnational Doing Business 2021 Report, covering Austria, Belgium and The Netherlands. Alberto holds an Integrated Master of Arts in Law, with a major in Public International Law from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. His research interests have covered sustainable economy in business, international relations, human rights, international corporate and litigation law. During his studies, he has spent a semester at the American University-Washington College of Law in Washington DC, USA, and a summer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, researching on corporate and litigation law, as well as Islamic Finance. He is a recipient of a TADS LLM Scholarship.

Matheus has been practicing law in Brazil for almost fourteen years in commercial litigation in numerous cases involving Energy and Environmental Law, being the last nine years as a junior partner at Sergio Bermudes Advogados, a leading law firm in Brazil. During his career he had the opportunity to represent and advise blue chip corporate clients in prominent cases in various industries and sectors, including representation of the major national mining company in the most recent and notorious cases in environmental and damages matters in Brazil. Matheus has a special interest in arbitration, energy and environmental law.

Julia is a Spanish qualified lawyer. She graduated from University Pompeu Fabra with a Bachelor's Degree in Law in June 2019, obtained a Master's Degree in Legal Practice from the Barcelona School of Management in 2020. Prior to joining the Sciences Po LLM in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, Julia gained practical experience by interning with litigation firms in Spain. She also broadened her understanding of law practice by working as an in-house lawyer in the legal department of Mediapro, a Spanish multinational company specialized in movie and television show production. Her professional interests include public international law and human rights law. She is also passionate about oral advocacy and has extensive moot experience. Júlia is part of the European Law Students Association Alumni. She is fluent in Spanish, Catalan and English and speaks basic French.

Bhavini is an Indian qualified lawyer, specialising in dispute settlement. Prior to Sciences Po, she worked with a boutique dispute resolution law firm in New Delhi. Bhavini has represented clients in high value international and domestic arbitration, mediation, and commercial litigation proceedings before various courts and tribunals, particularly in the energy, construction, and oil and gas sectors. She graduated from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2018 and has regularly participated in international moot court competitions both as a speaker and as a coach, notably representing her university as a speaker at the Willem C. Vis (East) Moot (where she finished as a semifinalist) and the Philip C. Jessup Moot.

Valentine is currently a student of Sciences Po’s LLM in Transnational Arbitration & Dispute Settlement (TADS). He previously completed his BSc in Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics with a specialisation in law, Cum Laude, and his LLB at the University of Amsterdam. He thereafter pursued an LLM in EU law at the Leiden University. During his studies, he has worked at Stibbe, Van Doorne, and NautaDutilh law firms. In these positions, he worked on disputes involving a diverse body of parties, domestic legal systems, and arbitration institutions. He also represented his university in several moot courts, including the Amsterdam Law Trials and the NILOS Moot Court Competition. His legal interests include public and private international law, comparative private law, international dispute resolution, and European Union law. He is a recipient of a TADS LLM Scholarship.

Adrian, who is originally from Belize, is an attorney admitted to practice in the United States in the State of New York and the District of Columbia. He is currently an LLM candidate in Sciences Po Law School’s Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement program. Prior to joining the LLM program, Adrian practiced law for six years at an international law firm in Washington, D.C. where he was a member of the firm’s commercial litigation and investment management practice groups. Adrian completed his undergraduate studies in Political Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009, and he graduated from Columbia Law School in New York with a J.D. degree in 2015. He will be completing his studies at the LLM TADS doing an internship at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in the second semester of 2022.

Maria is a Uruguayan qualified lawyer who graduated from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay in 2020, with honours. Prior to joining Sciences Po, Maria practiced law at Posadas, Posadas & Vecino, one of the top international law firms in Uruguay. She has also worked in the legal services of the international office of Uruguay’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and two other highly reputed Uruguayan law firms. Maria’s diverse experience has allowed her to acquire knowledge in the public and private sector as well as in the corporate and litigation field.
