Congratulations to Olivier Pilmis on the award of his HDR

Olivier Pilmis, a CNRS researcher at the CSO, successfully defended his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) in sociology on September 22, 2026, titled “A Subject of the Future: Forecasters and the Future of the Economy” (original dissertation).

This major milestone in an academic career attests to the quality and originality of a scholarly trajectory dedicated to economic sociology focused on risks, work, and expertise. More specifically, his work examines how individuals and organizations cope with uncertainty, based on an inquiry into how economic forecasts are produced.
