Carolina Iglesias Otero (University of Chicago), Karen Langvik (University of Oslo) & Stéphanie Pache (University of Quebec in Montreal)
The CSO is pleased to welcome several academics this month:
Carolina Iglesias Otero is a doctoral student in sociocultural anthropology at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on the transformations of Mexico's leading oil company over the past few decades and the social effects of these transformations. Hosted by Martin Giraudeau, Carolina Iglesias Otero will be spending six months at the CSO until June 2026.
Karen Langvik is a doctoral student in anthropology at Cicero (Centre for International Climate Research - University of Oslo) in Norway, where she is working on issues of repair and the circular economy for electronic devices. Hosted by Sophie Dubuisson-Quellier, she will be at the CSO from January to March 2026.
Stéphanie Pache is a professor of gender and sexuality sociology in the Department of Sociology at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). Her current research focuses on the role of psychological expertise in public policies against gender-based violence in North America. She is visiting the CSO from January to July and is hosted by Emilie Biland-Curinier.
