Biography

Jade Payan holds a master's degree in Economics and Sociology (jointly supervised by EHESS, Dauphine-PSL, and Mines) and is pursuing a PhD at the Center for the Sociology of Organizations (CSO) with funding from the École normale supérieure (ENS) Rennes. She is working on hunting policies in France, under the joint supervision of Manisha Anantharaman and Marie Piganiol (IRISSO, Dauphine-PSL). Specifically, she is studying how hunters have managed to institutionalize their role as wildlife regulators and what changes in their practices this new public service mission entails. She draws on approaches from environmental sociology and the sociology of public action
