Biography
Diane Gattet is in her fourth year of doctoral studies at the Center for Organizational Sociology (Sciences Po Paris), under the joint supervision of Jérôme Pélisse and Mathilde Darley (IRIS). During her Master's degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action at PSIA (Sciences Po Paris), she wrote a research thesis entitled “Traiter les recours avec rapidité et qualité : justice de masse et rationalisation managériale à la Cour nationale du droit d'asile” (Dealing with appeals quickly and efficiently: mass justice and managerial rationalization at the National Court of Asylum) (under the supervision of Sharon Weill, American University of Paris). She continued her interest in the study of courts and legal professionals by researching, as part of her thesis, the professionals who assist magistrates in drafting legal documents in France: magistrates' assistants. She seeks to analyze the recent development of these assistant positions, the role and integration of these staff members in the courts, and the career paths of these assistants, who are often young graduates and for the most part pass through these positions hoping to become judges or lawyers
