Matthieu Branlat

Matthieu Branlat is a researcher at SINTEF in Norway, in the department of Software Engineering, Safety and Security. He has a background in cognitive ergonomics and human factors (Masters at the Cnam, Paris, 2005; PhD at the Ohio State University, 2011). He initially conducted research in high-risk / high-consequences work environments with a focus on decision-making (individual, team, organization). This work was conducted in particular with actors from the military, emergency or industrial sectors. For the past ten years, he has focused on crisis and disaster management. From 2020 to 2023, he coordinated ENGAGE, a Horizon 2020 project focused on the participation of populations in disaster management. In SYNERGIES, a Horizon Europe project started in Dec. 2023 and focused on the preparation of populations for disasters, he leads the theme on the integration of spontaneous helpers.
