CRIS SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR 2024-2025

Talk with Fabian T. Pfeffer, Professor of Sociology, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München & Co-Director of WAM, Wealth and Mobility Study, University of Michigan. Fabian T. Pfeffer is also the founding director of the Munich International Stone Center for Inequality Research. 

This talk begins with a brief description of the wealth distribution as a reminder of the extreme level of wealth inequality in Western countries. It then presents preliminary results from a real-utopian style proposal for wealth redistribution and discusses its promises and limits, ultimately leading to a push for a new perspective on wealth inequality, namely the question of wealth predistribution, or “what is owned”?
