Talk with Sanyu A. Mojola, Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs, Maurice P. During Professor of Demographic Studies, Princeton University

This presentation will discuss findings from analyses of mixed methods longitudinal survey, disease biomarker, focus group and life history interview data (1992-2018) to examine how people aged through apartheid and post-apartheid South Africa, the causes and consequences of its major infectious and chronic disease epidemics (including HIV/AIDS, hypertension and diabetes), and its complex lines of health, racial and economic inequality. The study draws from 12 years of team-based research in northeast South Africa, and is the focus of a book in progress.
