Félicitations à Olivier Godechot, directeur de recherche CNRS au Centre de recherche sur les inégalités sociales et directeur d'AxPo, à Mirna Safi, full professor au CRIS, et à leurs co-auteurs, membres du groupe de travail COIN, pour l'obtention du prestigieux prix Gould, décerné par l'American Sociological Asssociation.  Ce prix récompense chaque année l'article publié dans l'American Journal of Sociology (AJS), qui illustre le mieux les qualités qui ont fait la renommée du travail de Roger Gould. Parmi les articles publiés sur une période de deux ans, les comités de rédaction de la revue sélectionnent un article empiriquement rigoureux, théoriquement fondé et lucide. Ce prix récompense l'article « The Great Separation: Top Earner Segregation at Work in Advanced Capitalist Economies », AJS 130 (septembre 2024) : 439-95.

Les membres du groupe de travail international COIN se sont également illustrés cet été en recevant un autre prix, décerné par la Section de recherche 28 (stratification et mobilité sociale) de l'International Sociological Association - Toutes nos félicitations à Olivier Godechot, Mirna Safi et à leurs co-auteurs, pour le Prix d'excellence, décerné pour l'article “Within-job gender pay inequality in 15 countries” (Nature Human Behaviour, 2022), lors de la conférence « RC28 » à Los Angeles en août dernier. 

Le Centre de recherche sur les inégalités sociales (CRIS) de Sciences Po est chargé d'organiser la première réunion thématique en ligne du RC28 en janvier 2026, qui devrait rassembler de nombreuses contributions internationales.

Congratulations to Olivier Godechot, CNRS Research Director at the Centre for Research on social InequalitieS and AxPo Director, to Mirna Safi, Full Professor at the CRIS, and to their co-authors, members of the COIN working group, for receiving the prestigious Gould Prize, awarded by the American Sociological Association. The Gould Prize is given annually to the article published in the American Journal of Sociology (AJS) that best exemplifies the qualities that made Roger Gould's work remarkable. From articles published over a two-year period, the journal's editorial boards select a piece that is empirically rigorous, theoretically grounded, and lucidly written. This year's award goes to "The Great Separation: Top Earner Segregation at Work in Advanced Capitalist Economies," AJS 130 (September 2024): 439-95.

The international COIN working group also distinguished itself this summer by winning another prize, awarded by Research Committee 28 (Social Stratification and Mobility) of the International Sociological Association. Many congratulations also to Olivier Godechot, Mirna Safi and co-authors, for the RC28 Significant Scholarship Award, awarded during the “RC28” Conference* in Los Angeles in August 2025. Paper: “Within-job gender pay inequality in 15 countries” (Nature Human Behaviour, 2022).

The Centre for Research on Social Inequalities (CRIS) at Sciences Po is also in charge of organizing the first RC28 online thematic meeting in January 2026, which is expected to bring together numerous international contributions.
