Biography
Anne Revillard is Full Professor in Sociology at CRIS and Director of LIEPP. Her research explores the interplay between law, policy/politics and the contemporary transformations of systems of inequality linked to gender and disability. As part of her work at LIEPP, she has also helped to promote and theorize the contribution of qualitative methods to policy evaluation, and to disseminate evaluation-based analytical frameworks within academic research. Based on the concept of the policy reception, she advocates for an approach to evaluative research that deliberately focuses on the experiences of the individuals targeted by a given policy, an approach she has notably applied in her research on disability policies.
The author of a dozen of edited volumes and monographs, her research has also been published in journals such as Law and society review, Work, employment and society, Law and social inquiry, Politics and gender, French politics, ALTER - European Journal of Disability Research, Global social policy, Revue française de sociologie, Revue française de science politique, L’Année sociologique, Sociétés contemporaines, Travail, genre et société, Gouvernement et action publique. The French version of her book Fragile rights: Disability, public policy, and social change has received the Grand prix de la protection sociale in 2022.
She is a member of several scientific advisory boards, including those of INSP, CNAF and Agefiph. She is on the editorial boards of Evaluation review, French politics, International Journal of Disability and Social Justice, L’Année sociologique and Droit et Société.
Anne Revillard coordinates the compilation of annotated bibliographic references on the topic of disability and work, available on the website Handicap et travail.
