Hugo Marcos-Marne has a B.A in Law, B.A in Political Science, M.A in Political Sciences and M.A in Applied Statistics. He received his PhD in Political Science at the University of Salamanca (Spain). After working as a lecturer and researcher in Cusco (Peru), and Lugano (Switzerland), he won an International Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of St. Gallen, where he currently works at the Chair of Comparative Politics.

Research interests

His research interest lies primarily in the intersection between social transformations, public opinion, and political behavior. Hugo Marcos-Marne is currently working on attitudes towards the European Union in members of national minorities, and on the psychological and sociological foundations of populist attitudes among citizens in Europe. His research has been published, among others, in: Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Ethnicities, National Identities, Revista Internacional de Sociologia, Revista de Estudios Politicos, and Revista Espanola de Ciencia Politica.

Research project.s you intend to pursue at the CEE

Hugo Marcos-Marne will be conducting a Short Time Scientific Mission to collaborate with the COST action entitled ‘International Ethnic and Immigrant Minorities' Survey Data’, which is led by Prof. Laura Morales. His main tasks will be related to the exploration of existing data, gathering of new data, and compiling metadata files.
