Joffrey Bécart

Curriculum

Joffrey has a bachelor’s degree in Applied Foreign Language (English – German) and a Master’s degree in Linguistics with a specialisation in Data Science. He first worked at the Fédération de Recherche en Langage et Communication  (FRLC - University of Strasbourg) as a research engineer before joining the CDSP in January 2026.

He currently works as a research assistant on the FAIRwDDI project, within the third work package (WP3 “Upscaling Metadata with AI”) related to, in connection with the development of the ReQuest metadata exploration tool.

Joffrey is working in particular on automating procedures that aim to harmonise and standardise metadata from questionnaire surveys.

Main activities

  • Implementing semantic similarity calculations applied to survey variables in the ReQuest exploration tool.
  • Designing an ontology adapted to the CDSP Databank, using rhe  keywords from the European Language Social Science Thesaurus.
  • Experimenting machine learning solutions for the thematic classification of variables from questionnaire surveys from the CDSP Databank.
