The Founder and Scientific Advisor for the Concentration in Global Health at PSIA-Sciences Po, Dominique Kerouedan, MD, MPH, PhD, MSc., BA Law, has significant experience in developing countries in relation to humanitarian health, health and development, HIV/AIDS control, Epidemiology of infectious diseases, health systems strengthening, policy and strategic design as well as project monitoring and evaluation.She has worked with UN agencies, bilateral French, US and German technical cooperation agencies, as well as with the European Commission, the World Bank, the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Her fieldwork has been mostly in Africa for the past 30 years (Rwanda, Gabon, Congo, Mali, Niger, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Eritrea, Madagascar, Morocco, Algeria, etc.), as well as in the Caribbean CARICOM region, Asia (Thailand, Pakistan (Afghan refugees)).
Kerouedan edited and directed the work of students that culminated in the 2011 publication of Santé internationale: les enjeux de santé au Sud, Editions Les Presses de Sciences Po. 592p. and has co-directed the latest edition of the reknown Book "Médecine Tropicale" with Pr Marc Gentilini, Pr Eric Caumes et al., as well as the following book, with Pr Joseph Brunet Jailly: Santé mondiale, enjeu stratégique, jeux diplomatiques, Editions Les Presses de Sciences Po, 2016.
Dominique Kerouedan was elected professor at the Collège de France in June 2012 to head the Chair "Knowledge against poverty" over the academic year 2012-2013 http://www.college-de-france.fr/site/dominique-kerouedan/index.htm.
Dominique Kerouedan is currently also working as a Medical Doctor specialised in Public Health and Social Medicine, in 2 medico-social centres in the middle of the city of Paris (next to Place de la République), taking care of street people, migrants and refugees, as well as men and women using drugs; in the same spirit, she's volunteering with the organisation La Cimade welcoming and counselling asylum seekers from all over the world while they process their legal applications to seek France's protection.
Dominique Kerouedan has recently been elected corresponding Member of the National Academy of Overseas Sciences in France (in May 2016), as well as elected Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medicine in France (in March 2017), where she is currently Rapporteur for the Working Group entitled: "Les migrants: aspects sanitaires, sociaux, économiques et éthiques".
Besides, Dominique is a mother of 3 sons, aged 29, 26 and 22 years old.
