Bio: 

Josef Zweimüller is Professor of Economics at the University of Zurich where he teaches macroeconomics and labor economics. His research focuses on the effects welfare state programs on the labor market (including unemployment insurance, disability insurance, pension reforms, parental leave and family policies, etc.). He is also interested in the causes of economic inequalities and their impact on macroeconomic outcomes (innovation and growth, trade patterns, etc.). His research has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Review, the Review of Economics Studies, the Journal of the European Economics Associated, the Journal of Public Economics and other international journals. He is currently the director of the Labour Economics Programme of CEPR, London.
