TESTIMONIAL. FRÉDÉRIC KRAIDI, ALUMNUS OF THE EXECUTIVE MASTERS IN AFRICAN POTIENTIAL: STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

How can one become an effective decision-maker and positively influence society? Such is the challenge faced by Frédéric Kraidi, Chief Executive Officer, TowerCo of Africa, Senegal. He opted for the Executive Masters in African Potential: Strategic Development and Management to strengthen his skills and advance his career. Her testimonial follows.

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE THE EXECUTIVE MASTERS PROGRAMME?

After attending military school, I ultimately turned towards a civilian career. My first role was in a telecommunications operator’s technical department. Thereafter, I completed an MBA programme to consolidate my skills in the private sector.

On becoming a public figure for the company, my career took a different turn. It became essential for me to formalise my leadership knowledge and enhance the impact of my work on local populations.

Sciences Po Executive Education was a natural choice: an institution having trained so many leaders in the public and private sectors across francophone countries. What’s more, the Executive Masters African Potential: Strategic Development and Management is specifically tailored to Africa, with particularly relevant examples and case studies, closely aligned with my personal and professional realities.

WHAT WERE THE HIGHLIGHTS DURING THE EXECUTIVE MASTERS PROGRAMME?

The aspect of the programme that left a lasting impression on me was, first and foremost, the profiles of the participants. Despite coming from very diverse backgrounds, whether senior executives, World Bank professionals or public administration officials, they all share a common passion: Africa.

The course content was also particularly rich, with lecturers sharing practical case studies. The testimonial from the Minister of Health of Togo was especially  inspiring for me...

HOW DID THE EXECUTIVE MASTERS PROGRAMME DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS IN PUBLIC POLICY AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT?

The programme allowed me to apply each newly acquired skill in my daily work, particularly in terms of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), by focusing on their impact on communities and the environment.

I also led digital infrastructure projects, questioning both financing models and environmental impacts. My work also supported my consultancy responsibilities with the National Single Window for Foreign Trade in Ivory Coast, , where I was able to focus on reducing the mortality rate of SMEs.

Beyond this, the programme inspired me to consider establishing a consultancy dedicated to structural transformation of African economies.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE FUTURE PROGRAMME PARTICIPANTS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS TRAINING?

I would encourage them to fully immerse themselves in it, as the programme is a real investment in their future. The Executive Masters programme shapes leaders who are ready to tackle Africa’s challenges, a continent where much remains to be done, provided that capable men and women are trained to drive change.
