Through its customised training programmes, Sciences Po Executive Education offers professional courses grounded in real-world challenges and aligned to strategic priorities faced by companies worldwide. Here’s a prime example of a training programme jointly developed with LG Electronics Europe, which brought together 50 HR professionals from 22 subsidiaries across Europe.

CUSTOMISED TRAINING PROGRAMMES CLOSELY ALIGNED TO BUSINESS NEEDS

To support organisations in their transformation, Sciences Po Executive Education offers customised programmes closely aligned with their specific needs and leading to the upskilling of their employees. These programmes are designed in direct connection with current market challenges and each organisation’s expectations.

Depending on organisational preferences, trainings can take place remotely, on the Sciences Po Paris campus, or at the company itself. They can also be delivered internationally, as demonstrated by the fully remote programme conducted for LG Electronics Europe’s HR teams.

Here are the training objectives and learning takeaways from the custom programme.

LG ELECTRONICS: A CO-DESIGNED PROGRAMME FOCUSED ON HR DATA ANALYSIS CONTEXT

To implement its “Make Europe Grow Again” programme and to bolster its competitiveness, LG Electronics Europe sought to train all its HR teams via a unified programme. The aim was to support them in addressing their key challenges, with a particular emphasis on performance measurement and data analysis to facilitate a shift from analytics to prediction. Co-designed with Sciences Po Executive Education, the “HR Analytics & Performance Management” training module gathered 50 HR specialists and generalists from 22 subsidiaries across Europe. It was delivered remotely, in English, over eight months, with a  three-hour session per month, and group work between sessions.

OBJECTIVES

The programme’s objectives, defined in close collaboration with the Sciences Po Executive Education team, were to enable HR professionals to establish a firm understanding of HR data’s importance across HR functions, to select relevant data for analysis, and to support decision-making.

Equipped with these newly acquired skills, participants had a second objective: “to raise awareness among its members and in each profession about the importance of KPIs (key performance indicators) in meeting the company’s business objectives, with a particular focus on growth and improvement of performance”.

Participants were expected to “become agents of change, and, backed by HR data analysis, help support decision-making and support the organisation in its path towards performance, prediction and prescription”.

The programme also strengthened relational ties within the LG Electronics Europe’s HR community by bringing together all members of its HR teams in six cross-country and cross-functional working groups over eight months, culminating in a collective certification project based on the programme insights.

A COLLABORATIVE WORKSHOP ON HR CORE COMPETENCIES

« The need to align human potential with organisational objectives in increasingly dynamic and unpredictable environments. »

Jérémy Lamri

Co-founder and CEO of Tomorrow Theory, an HR engineering consulting firm, and Affiliate Professor at Sciences Po Executive Education.

Customised training provides the opportunity for collective work focused on concrete objectives. The programme developed with LG Electronics Europe asked participants to consider how organisations can adapt to digital transformation. An interactive workshop led by Jérémy Lamri, co-founder and CEO of Tomorrow Theory and affiliated professor at Sciences Po Executive Education, began from the premise that HR functions will play a key role in navigating organisational change and must develop a distinct set of competencies for the future. Which ones will HR leaders need to equip themselves with in the near future?

Together, participants identified 20 competencies organised into five categories:

  • Employee experience and engagement,
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion,
  • Data and technology-oriented HR,
  • Agility, resilience and change management,
  • Leadership and talent development.

“The need to align human potential with organisational objectives in increasingly dynamic and unpredictable environments was raised through the workshop," explained Jérémy Lamri.

The workshop allowed participants to identify key future HR competencies and to enrich their own reflections on continuous learning and the evolving role of HR within organisations. They contributed towards fostering collective reflection on the future of HR, as their conclusions were reiterated by Jérémy Lamri in a widely shared article within the HR ecosystem.
