CrisOrg : organizations in crisis

ANR

Following a Flash call launched in March 2020, ANR (French national research agency) launched a new call for Research-Action projects on COVID-19, which aims to rapidly support the scientific communities mobilised on COVID-19 in an emergency context.

ANR will fund the CrisOrg (organizations in crisis) project for a period of 12 months.

The project is led by Olivier Borraz, accompanied by a consortium of seven other researchers, four of whom are at the CSO: Henri BergeronPatrick CastelRenaud CrespinEtienne NouguezCécile Fournier, Senior Researcher at IRDES (Institute for Research and Documentation in Health Economics), Valérie November, CNRS Research professor at LATTS (Laboratory of Techniques, Territories and Societies) and Audrey Vezian, CNRS Researcher at UMR Triangle, are also involved in the project.

SUMMARY

This research aims to study the response of different organizations to the Covid-19 pandemic at the national and local levels and in the healthcare system. It will focus on three topics: prevention and protection; the organization of screening; and care. It aims to understand the ways in which these organizations transformed themselves or not in a period of uncertainty. To do so, it will focus on collective action (to analyze the forms of cooperation or conflict that arise during the management of the crisis) and cognitive work (which look at the way in which the actors make sense of the crisis and legitimize their actions). The challenge is to produce, in addition to knowledge on how organizations operate in crisis situations, an analysis shared with the actors of the crisis in these organizations, with a view to feedback and collective learning.
