Biographie

 

Annabelle Lever est professeure de philosophie politique à Sciences Po et chercheuse permanente au CEVIPOF.

 

Diplômée d’un doctorat en Sciences Politique de MIT (USA) et d’un BA en Histoire d’Oxford, elle a enseigné à University of Rochester, Harvard et MIT aux Etats-Unis ; à l’université de Reading et au LSE en Angleterre, et à l’université de Genève avant d’intégrer Sciences Po en 2017.

 

Ses activités de recherche et d’enseignement en philosophie politique portent principalement sur la théorie de la démocratie, l’égalité, la vie privée et la sécurité et leurs implications pour l’éthique et politique publique ainsi que sur la méthodologie de philosophie politique.

 

Elle a été coordonnatrice du projet Européen REDEM (Reconstructing Democracy in Times of Crisis : A Voter-Centred Perspective) et en 2021 elle est devenue Doctor Honoris Causa a l’université d’Aalborg, en partie pour ses contributions à l’éthique du vote. 

 

Elle a fondé et dirige le ECPR network ‘The Political Theory of Elections’  et co-dirige l’Atelier de Théorie Politique Paris.

Elle est co-rédactrice du journal Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy (CRISPP) et l’autrice et l’éditrice des plusieurs livres en anglais tels que On Privacy (2011) traduit en français en 2023 ; The Routledge Handbook of Ethics and Public Policy (2017) et Reconstructing Democracy in Times of Crisis (2023) ; ainsi qu’articles en français et anglais tels que  ‘Plaidoyer pour la déconstruction’ (2021) et ‘légalité démocratique à l’épreuve du triage au sort’ et ‘Random Selection, Democracy and Citizen Expertise’  (2023) ou ‘Equality and Constitutionality’ (2024).
