Après une présentation du livre par Samuel Hayat (CEVIPOF),  Julien Talpin (Université de Lille) et Audric Vitiello (Université de Tours), Jane Mansbridge reviendra sur ses écrits sur la démocratie et la représentation, dans une communication qui sera discutée par Vincent Martigny (Université de Nice, CEVIPOF).

"Jane Mansbridge was elected president of the American Political Science Association (APSA) in 2012 and has won just about all the distinguished awards for her fields in her profession. This past fall, she received the APSA Lippincott Award, for her book Beyond Adversary Democracy, for “a work of exceptional quality by a living political theorist that is still considered significant after a time span of at least 15 years since the original date of publication.” Earlier, the APSA Schuck Award and APSA Kammerer Award for her book Why We Lost the Equal Rights Amendment. Then the APSA James Madison Award, “to honor an American political scientist who has made a distinguished scholarly contribution to political science.” Then the Karl Deutsch Award from the International Political Science Association “to honour a prominent scholar engaged in …cross-disciplinary research.” And preeminently, the international Johan Skytte Prize, sometimes described as the 'Nobel’ in political science, for “the scholar who…has made the most valuable contribution to political science
