Diplômé des universités de Grenoble et de Paris 10 Nanterre, Docteur (habilité) en économie. Avant de rejoindre SciencesPo, j’ai été chercheur au Centre d’études prospectives et d’informations internationales (CEPII) et Professeur associé d’Economie à l’université Paris Dauphine (Past, 1999- 2011). Mes recherches actuelles portent sur la construction et la régulation des marchés, vues avec une perspective « bottom-up » et micro-fondée, dans laquelle une grande importance est donnée aux règles de droit et aux procédures. On trouve en particulier ici les figures du juge et de l’arbitre, mais aussi, par exemple, celle des missions économiques du FMI qui tentent de s’interposer entre les pays en crise d’endettement et leurs créanciers.

Tel est le thème de mon dernier livre, paru à la fin de 2023 : The Debt Crisis of the 1980s, Law and Political Economy. Cet ouvrage pluridisciplinaire repose notamment sur des entretiens avec les principales personnalités qui ont géré cette crise (de Larosière, Volcker, Rhodes, etc), de l’autre sur un important travail d’archives (FMI, Réserve Fédérale de New York, Banque d’Angleterre, Banque de France, BRI, etc).
