Je suis diplômé des universités de Grenoble et de Paris 10 Nanterre, Docteur (habilité) en économie. Mes recherches actuelles portent sur la construction et la régulation des marchés, vues avec une perspective bottom-up et micro-fondée, dans laquelle une grande importance est donnée aux règles de droit et aux procédures. On trouve en particulier ici les figures du juge, de l’arbitre et de l’administrateur, qui sont étudiées dans divers contextes historiques : la justice et l’administration économique sous l’Ancien Régime, les faillites au XIXe siècle, les restructurations de dettes souveraines. Toutefois ma principale de recherche actuelle porte sur l’histoire de l’arbitrage commercial international (1880-1980), sujet sur lequel je prépare actuellement un livre.
Auparavant, j’ai été chercheur au Centre d’études prospectives et d’informations internationales (CEPII) et Professeur associé d’Economie à l’université Paris Dauphine (Past, 1999-2011). J’ai travaillé dans les années 1990 sur l’économie de la transition en Europe de l’est, ainsi que sur les crises et les réformes dans les économies émergentes (L’Economie de la Panique, 2002).
