What place does the protection of cultural heritage occupy in a contemporary situation characterized by heightened geopolitical tensions, more acute power rivalries and greater budgetary constraints? The aim of this conference is to bring together the views of academics and practitioners on recent developments in the protection of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Drawing on case studies and feedback from a wide range of experiences, this conference aims to describe the conditions under which the protection of cultural heritage is ensured, despite a strategic deterioration within the current international system.
