Student Community

The School of Public Affairs (EAP) welcomes more than 2,200 students across its programs, nearly 30% of whom are international students representing more than 50 different nationalities.

Our students come largely from the seven campuses of Sciences Po’s Undergraduate College, but also from French universities, preparatory classes and grandes écoles, as well as from leading universities around the world.

The diversity of our students’ geographical and academic backgrounds reflects the breadth of our programs, taught in both French and English: the Master in Public Policy, the Master in European Affairs, and 10 policy-stream programmes covering the major fields of public action, as well as the key challenges of the digital and ecological transitions. These include long-standing international dual-degree programmes with SIPA and LSE, as well as the more recent partnership with Munk, alongside national dual-degree programmes with institutions ranging from the École du Louvre to Saint-Cyr, via HEC.

The opportunities available within these programmes - including gap years, apprenticeships and exchange semesters - allow students to personalize their academic journey and prepare for their future careers. The Prépa Concours and the Prépa Talents program also welcome new students who, after longer or shorter periods of study at Sciences Po, further enrich our cohorts.

Whether they join us from the Undergraduate College or through one of our preparatory programs, all our students embody the diversity of academic and personal paths that make the School what it is.

This diversity is also reflected in the wide range of aspirations and career paths pursued by our students: from competitive entrance exams for senior civil service positions and European institutions, to public service at every level, international organizations, the non-profit sector and the private sector.

The strong professional experience gained through our courses, as well as through internships and career events, enables us to graduate cohorts of students who put their critical thinking, skills and enthusiasm at the service of the common good.

Our student community comes together not only in the classroom, but also through the vibrant student life of the School and Sciences Po more broadly.

At the School of Public Affairs, student life is organized around the Association of Students of the School of Public Affairs (AEAP). Structured around three thematic divisions — events, partnerships and communications — the Association is dedicated to fostering community life at the School. Conferences, round tables, visits and informal gatherings all provide opportunities for students to meet and connect.

The AEAP also plays an important role in the School’s democratic life: policy-stream representatives and vice-presidents of the Master in Public Policy and the Master in European Affairs play a key role in facilitating dialogue between the School’s leadership and its students.
