Diplômée en droit public de Sciences Po Bordeaux et titulaire d'un master de sociologie de l'ENS Paris, Barbara est actuellement en thèse de science politique à PACTE. Les recherches qu'elle mène sous la direction de Martine Kaluszynski portent sur le dispositif de rétention de sûreté. A la croisée d'une sociologie politique du droit et d'une ethnographie de l'Etat, son travail appréhende l'introduction de cette nouvelle modalité d'enfermement en droit français à travers les agents de son institutionnalisation. A partir d'observations, d'entretiens et de documents écrits, son travail éprouve l'hypothèse d'une construction normative empirique permise par un ordre moral partagé.
Barbara is a PhD candidate in Political Science (advisor : Martine Kaluszynski). She received a M.A. in Public Law from Sciences Po Bordeaux and a M.A. in Sociology from the ENS Paris. Her research interests include political sociology, sociology of law and sociology of punishment and social control. Her PhD thesis focuses on a recent French criminal law that allows to keep offenders in custody after they have served their criminal sentences. Barbara uses observation, interviews and archive to investigate the drafting and the implementation of the law and to test the hypothesis of an empirical normative order.
