CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP)
Application deadline: May 16th 2017
The Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP) invites applications for doctoral positions. The recipients of the PhD fellowship will be formally enrolled through the doctoral programs of Sciences Po in Economics, Sociology or Political Science.
As an interdisciplinary project, LIEPP welcomes applications for doctoral positions in economics, sociology or political science, as long as the thesis projects are linked to the LIEPP’s research agenda on Public Policy Evaluation. We invite applications from a wide range of fields, including educational policies, fiscal policies, employment policies, social policies, housing & urban policies, higher education, public health policies, the public perceptions of policies, and methodology of policy evaluation including big data analysis.
Eligibility: We are seeking strong candidates open to interdisciplinary dialogue. The candidate will hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) with a strong research component and have received at least some training in one or more of these disciplines: economics, sociology and political science. S/he must have a good command of quantitative and/or qualitative methods. There is no nationality requirement; however a firm command of English is required. Please note that there is a double acceptance criterion: students should be accepted by both the Doctoral School of Sciences Po (application link below) and LIEPP’s scientific committee.
Fellowship amount: 1758€ gross / month; 3-year contract starting in September 2017.
LIEPP application procedure:
- transcript of records;
- cover letter in English, briefly describing your intellectual trajectory so far and your interest with the LIEPP’s project (2 pages maximum);
- thesis project in English (7,500 words maximum);
- abstract summarizing the thesis project (250 words maximum);
- writing sample (article, thesis, term paper, ...);
- if possible, we strongly encourage you to obtain one or two letters of recommendation.
Please email the complete file to firstname.lastname@example.org by the deadline of May 16th 2017 (please write “LIEPP PhD positions 2017” in the subject line). Incomplete files will not be considered. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
Please note that there is a double acceptance criterion. Only candidates who have also applied for admission through the online procedure of the Doctoral School of Sciences Po (in Economics, Sociology or Political Science) and have been selected will be considered.
All candidates will be informed about the final decision at the end of June.
