Biographie

Romain Lachat est associate professor au CEVIPOF, qu’il a rejoint en 2016. Il a obtenu un doctorat en science politique à l’Université de Zurich (2004) et une Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches à Sciences Po (2019). Avant de rejoindre Sciences Po, il a été professeur invité, puis professeur associé au Département des sciences politiques et sociales de l’Université Pompeu Fabra, à Barcelone (2010-2016). Il a également été chercheur invité au département de science politique de l’Université de Montréal (2006-2007) et à New York University (2007-2008).

Ses recherches portent sur le domaine de l’analyse comparée du comportement électoral. Il s’intéresse en particulier à la transformation des clivages politiques, au rôle des enjeux dans les choix de vote, et à l’effet des systèmes électoraux sur la compétition électorale et sur la qualité de la représentation politique. Il est le co-titulaire de la Chaire CÉRIUM-FMSH sur la gouvernance mondiale (avec Ruth Dassonneville, Université de Montréal).

Ses travaux ont été publiés dans plusieurs revues internationales, telles que Comparative Political Studies, Electoral Studies, European Journal of Political Research, Political Behavior et Political Science Research and Methods.
