Biographie

1. Travaux de recherche

Jan Rovny est professeur de science politique au Centre d'études européennes et de politique comparée à Sciences Po, Paris. Ses recherches se concentrent sur la concurrence politique en Europe dans le but de dévoiler les lignes de conflit politique dans différents pays. Il explore les questions que les partis politiques contestent à travers le continent, les stratégies suivies par différents partis, ainsi que les préférences et les logiques de vote des électeurs.

Il s'intéresse à l'impact de différents profils d'électeurs, en particulier leur identité ethnique et leur exposition à divers risques sociaux, sur leurs attitudes politiques et leur comportement de vote, ainsi que sur les formes de leur représentation politique.

Jan Rovny est l'un des principaux enquêteurs de la Chapel Hill Expert Survey sur le positionnement des partis.

2. Enseignements

Il enseigne des cours de politique comparée et de méthodologie quantitative, et conseille des étudiants travaillant sur les partis politiques, le comportement électoral ou la politique ethnique en Europe. Il est également co-directeur de master de recherche en politique comparée et conseiller académique à la Summer School de Sciences Po.
