Direct admissions for a PhD for the 2017 intake are now open.

Admissions to the Doctoral School

The Doctoral School offers both Master’s and PhD programmes.

Admission to a Master programme

The Doctoral School offers several Master programmes. Prospective students must follow the standard application process for Master’s programmes (either the exam-based procedure, or the international procedure, depending on their situation).

Note: Sciences Po undergraduates who wish to apply to a Doctoral School Master’s programme must submit the dedicated application designated for them.

Direct admission to a PhD

Applicants who already hold a Master’s degree, whether from France or abroad, and wish to enter a Sciences Po doctoral programme directly at the PhD level must submit their online application by one of the following deadlines:

  • January 30, 2017, for admissions decisions by early April 2017
  • May 9, 2017 (Law: May 31, 2017), for admissions decisions by July 2017

Doctoral programme applicants may be asked to sit an interview, either at Sciences Po or via videoconference or telephone.

The application is available exclusively online.

Note: Sciences Po undergraduates who wish to apply to a Doctoral School Master’s programme must submit the dedicated application designated for them.
