A world-class university in the social sciences, Sciences Po is an institution of modest size (with a total student body of 13,000) in which a full range of disciplines are taught in groups of limited size. Student progress and knowledge acquisition are continually monitored using different methods of evaluation: individual and group, written and oral, continuous assessment and final examination.

Sciences Po awards a Bachelor’s degree at the end of a three-year undergraduate programme and a Master's degree after two years of graduate study.

The Undergraduate College, located on seven different campuses throughout France offers a rigorous three-year programme, providing a solid grounding in the social sciences and equipping students with the necessary tools for gaining an active and constructive understanding of the contemporary world, namely in the disciplines of economics, history, law, sociology and political science. The third year is spent abroad either at a partner university or on an internship.
Sciences Po also offers a wide range of Dual Bachelor's degree programmes with prestigious universities worldwide.
Students may study for a Master degree in the Paris campus for another two years. These courses allow students to specialise and acquire the necessary skills to embarke in the career path they have designed, all the while maintaining that multidisciplinary approach that is the hallmark of the Sciences Po education.
An open, international and supportive environment
Sciences Po is an institution that is resolutely oriented to the rest of the world, with 46% of its student body from 150 different countries, 470 partnerships with universities around the world, an international teaching staff, instruction in 25 languages, a compulsory year abroad, and countless activities organised by and for international students.
Sciences Po is an open and supportive institution that welcomes incoming students each year through an extensive orientation programme and services. At Sciences Po, more than 200 associations help students in their personal growth through artistic, athletic and civic activities.
An affordable education
Sciences Po is an institution accessible to all through its sliding scale tuition fees that range from €0 to €10,040 for European Union tax based undergraduate students and €0 to €13,820 for EU tax based graduate students (in 2015-2016), determined on a means-tested basis, as well as through an innovative and diversified system of scholarships. For non-European tax based students the fixed rate is respectively €10,040 and €13,820, with several need-based scholarships available.
Sciences Po prepares its students for a wide range of career opportunities, and thus has a unique status on the job market, both in France and abroad. 39% of the graduates start their career abroad.
Sciences Po alumni are found across many sectors: banking, finance and insurance, audit and consulting, publishing and media, industry, energy and transport and public administration, to name only the most popular. 69% work in the private sector, 23.5% in public institutions at the French, European and international levels, and 7.5% in teaching and research.

Supporting your child
Parents can play an important role in providing their children with helpful support, taking into account the following:
First, prospective applicants should be encouraged to start thinking seriously about their future interests and studies in their final two years of secondary school. Knowledge of foreign languages, inquisitiveness about the world around them, participation in student clubs and societies, and individual commitment are all assets that can be strengthened and further developed over time.
Second, parents can help their children to prepare for the highly selective admissions process, where the number of applicants is vastly greater than the number of students admitted. The objective behind this process is to select those students who will not only be most able to excel at Sciences Po and complete their degrees, but who will also get the most out of the experience, both personally and professionally. A candidate who is not admitted should not consider this as a failure, but rather as the possibility to pursue their education at another institution which better fits their objectives and personality.
We ask parents to support their children throughout this challenging process, both in helping them to decide where to apply and then with their applications, without directly intervening, which would risk compromising the process.
Parents should encourage their children to develop their own interests and intellectual curiosity, to express their own enthusiasm, and to determine their own priorities. Parents should take care to allow prospective students to complete their applications on their own. Parents can help with respecting deadlines and remembering exam dates, but to push their children to apply against their wishes would be ultimately counter productive.
