The Summer School’s University Programme is a unique opportunity for university students and graduates from all over the world to discover Sciences Po over the course of a summer on our Paris campus.

STUDY SOCIAL SCIENCES, FRENCH LANGUAGE, OR BOTH
Participants in the Summer School’s University Programme can:
Study Sciences Po’s key disciplines, such as international relations, political science, or economics, in the social sciences track.
All classes are taught in English by Sciences Po professors and researchers. Sample classes taught in Summer 2020 include “The European Union at a Crossroads,” “Sustainable Development and Climate Action,” “The Age of Economists: Globalization, Growth and Inequalities,” and more.
Immerse themselves in intensive French language study in the French language track.
The French language track offers courses for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. Classes focus on developing language skills while also delving into French culture and contemporary issues in France.
Combine both subjects through their choice of core and elective classes.
Optional elective courses allow students to take both French and social sciences classes during the same session.
Both academic tracks are offered during the June and July sessions. Each session, students pick one core course from either academic track and, in addition, may choose to take an optional elective class.
LIVE AND STUDY IN THE HEART OF PARIS
Outside the classroom, participants are immersed in French language and culture through daily life in Paris. From Sciences Po’s campus in the historic Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood, students can easily reach some of Paris’ most famous landmarks on foot. The Summer School also proposes a variety of cultural visits and activities to give students the chance to discover the city of Paris, as well as French history and culture. Housing options allow students to live together in typical Parisian apartments or student residence halls. Learn more about exploring Paris.
JOIN SCIENCES PO’S INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
Summer School students are part of an international community. In 2019, the programme welcomed almost 450 students representing over 60 nationalities and a diverse range of academic and professional backgrounds. Here’s what some of them had to say about the University Programme:
“The social science courses I took were excellent. I gained a profound sense of knowledge regarding political science while getting a well-rounded glimpse of university life. It was a very meaningful experience that I know will help me excel in the future. The Summer School actually helped me to select a college major! And aside from the academics, living in Paris for a month was a blast.” - Qin, China
“My classmates at the Summer School were very friendly and open-minded, and they came from all over the world. The multicultural ambiance was fantastic. The professors were nothing less than excellent, well-prepared and motivating. The French courses were always accompanied with very interesting topics drawn from current events or French culture. It was very enriching to debate these topics in class due to the vast diversity in perspectives given by international students.” - Begona, Italy & Mexico
“Living in Paris was amazing because it’s so different from Melbourne, where I’m living right now. Everyday after class I would explore the city, visit museums and attend different expositions... it was a culturally enriching experience Actually living in Paris for a month here meant that I could immerse myself and partake in activities that locals would do, as opposed to coming here as a tourist on vacation. One of the best parts was seeing the hidden spots in Paris where you won’t find many tourists! ” - Doorgesha, Mauritius
