Tuition and Fees

University Programme

University Programme tuition fees include classes and any course materials. Additional, optional fees apply for students who wish to obtain accommodation through the Summer School, for French language track students who wish to take a DELF/DALF exam, and for students who wish to take an elective class.

2021 University Programme Tuition Fees

  • One session: 2,400 €
  • Two sessions: 4,200 €
  • Early bird registration for two sessions : 4,000 €

Admitted students who complete their registration for the programme by March 15th, 2021 are eligible for the "early bird" discount for two sessions.

The following are not included in tuition fees and must be arranged directly by each student: transportation to and from Paris, school supplies (excluding books), food, optional activities, and housing.

2021 Optional Academic Fees

Elective classes

  • Per session: 500 €

Students have the possibility to take one optional elective class per session in addition to their core social science or French language class. See a full list of elective classes.


The 2021 DELF/DALF exam fees will be updated as soon as the information is available. For reference, the 2020 fees were:

  • DELF B2 : 220 €
  • DALF C1 : 220 €

2021 Optional Accommodation Fees

Housing options and fees for 2021 will be announced in Fall 2020. In the meantime, previous housing fees were:

  • Blue Stripe – Shared rooms in apartments shared with other Summer School students. Housing fees were approximately 900 € per session.
  • Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP) – Private rooms in student residence halls. Housing fees were approximately 970 € per session.

Application Fee

Applicants must pay a 40 € application fee at the time of their application. The fee is payable online by credit card at the end of the application process. The application fee is non-refundable.


The Summer School is not able to offer any scholarships. We encourage prospective students to check with their home universities and local embassies to see if they may secure additional funding.

Refund, Cancellation and Modification Policy

The University Programme 2020 Refund, Cancellation and Modification Policy (PDF, 319 Mb) specifies the time table and conditions for which University Programme tuition, accommodation and other programme fees can be refunded, as well as policies regarding course cancellation and modification of class registration.
