Announcing a new Pre-College Programme for secondary school students
In Summer 2017, Sciences Po will open its doors to secondary school students from around the world as part of the Summer School’s Pre-College Programme. This programme is an opportunity to discover Sciences Po and experience college life and academics at one of France’s leading universities.
Challenging coursework in the social sciences and foreign language
Classes in the Pre-College Programme are designed to introduce students to the key disciplines and methodologies of a Sciences Po education. Participants will tackle rigorous academic content through an interdisciplinary lens, exploring current issues in international relations, political science, economics and more.
The academic programme will include classes on activities on weekdays, and study trips to reinforce learning each weekend. Social sciences lectures and master classes will be taught in English. Other classes will include foreign language study in French (or, for French speakers, advanced English) and methodology workshops designed to prepare students for university studies in France and elsewhere.
An exceptional campus in an historic French city
The Pre-College Programme takes place on the Reims campus of Sciences Po, a beautifully-restored former Jesuit college from the 17th century. Located in the walkable center of town, it is an ideal base for students to immerse themselves in French life and culture.
Reims, a mid-sized city with a rich history, served for over a thousand years as the coronation site for the French kings and boasts an impressive architectural heritage dating back to the Gallo-Roman era. Today, the city is capital of the world-famous Champagne region and can be reached in only 40 minutes by train from Paris.
Eligibility and How to Apply
Candidates must be currently enrolled in secondary school and between the ages of 15 to 17 years old at the time of the programme.
Admission to the Pre-College Programme requires the successful completion of a selective application process. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis and candidates are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited.
