French language programme recognized
- Label Qualité FLE
Sciences Po honored with a “label of quality” for its teaching in French as a foreign language
On March 3rd, 2017, Sciences Po's Paris campus was awarded the distinction of the Label Qualité français langue étrangère. The Summer School and the Paris Department of Languages have obtained the label with three stars, the highest possible rating. Henceforth, the two programmes will be internationally recognized for the excellence of their teaching in this field.
Since 2007, the Label Qualité has certified teaching establishments of French as a foreign language. The label is awarded on the basis of the quality of the instruction and of the teachers, but also on the management, student services and infrastructures provided. It is issued by the International Center for Pedagogical Studies (CIEP), a French government antenna of the Ministry of National Education whose aim is to promote the teaching and dissemination of the French language abroad.
During an audit that took place in February 2017, the Summer School and the Department of Languages at Sciences Po successfully demonstrated the excellence of their instruction, the professionalism and involvement of their teachers and staff, as well as the exceptional framework in which students of Sciences Po can study.
With the distinction of this label, the Paris campus of Sciences Po has joined renowned institutions such as the École Polytechnique or the INSA in Lyon, which choose to undergo the rigorous inspection of the CIEP in order to highlight the excellence of their teaching in French for foreign students.
The Summer School is immensely proud to join the club of three-star label centers. This label certifies what our students have long known: the excellence of our professors and of our courses in French language. We congratulate our academic team, and salute the tireless efforts of our exceptional professors.
