The University Programme offers two academic tracks:

  • Social Sciences track: during the January session (Winter School), June and July sessions (Summer School)
  • French Language track: during the June and July session

Subscribe to our newsletter to be informed about our upcoming webinars.

Students can attend ONE track per session. Summer School participants can choose to attend both summer sessions in the Social Sciences track or switch to the French Language. Additionally, students may choose to add an elective course on top of their core social sciences or French language course.

Given current public health regulations and restrictions on international travel that may prevent some students from attending the programme in person, the Summer School will be offering a selection of courses online in June and July in order to allow participants from all over the world to study at Sciences Po this summer.

The Summer School will also be offering a selection of courses on campus in June and July for students who are able to travel to Paris this summer. The number of students present on campus will be limited in accordance with social distancing and public health measures, allowing us to ensure a safe learning experience for all students.

Social Sciences Track (Courses offered on campus and online)

Students in the social sciences track select one core course of intensive study from Sciences Po’s fundamental disciplines, such as international relations, political science, economics, history, and more. Classes are led by Sciences Po professors and taught in English.

In 2022, courses in the Social Sciences track are offered on campus and online for both the June and July sessions.

French Language Track (Courses offered on campus only)

Students take a variety of classes at one of six levels adapted to their knowledge of French, from complete beginner to advanced. At all levels, language study accounts for the majority of class time, reinforced by oral and written expression workshops and tutorials.

In 2022, courses in the French language track are offered exclusively on campus for both the June and July sessions.

Elective Courses (Courses offered on campus only)

In addition to their core studies in the social sciences or French language track, students may choose to take an optional elective course.

In 2022, elective courses will be offered exclusively on campus and will be only available to students participating in one of the on-campus core courses in June or July.

Please note, it is not possible to combine an elective course and an online course, even if a student is based in Paris, due to schedule conflicts.

Sciences Po is providing a new and innovative educational experience by offering an on-campus Winter School in January. Winter School students have the opportunity to delve into a fundamental subject of the Sciences Po curriculum. They can choose one core course of intensive study from the social sciences track.
