This research uses the case of Nepal, a highly remittance-dependent economy (remittances accounting for around 25% of the GDP) to study the consequences of the large-scale return of migrant workers to their home countries post-pandemic.In this talk, Dr. Shivakoti will present her recent research based on a SSHRC funded project with primary data collected from 150 pandemic returnee migrant workers from various destinations to Nepal with 4 sets of semi-structured interviews over a 2-year period.
