[INTERVIEW] Blockchain and the cypherpunk ideology: a conversation between Primavera DE FILIPPI, Amir TAAKI, and Yorick DE MOMBYNES

For its conference « The Blockchain Ideology after the crypto boom: is the cypherpunk movement still alive? » The Chair Digital, Governance and Sovereignty of the Sciences Po School of Public Affairs was proud to welcome on the 12th of February Primavera De Filippi, CNRS permanent researcher, faculty associate at the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet and Society and author of Blockchain and the Law, Amir Taaki, Bitcoin developer, activist, creator of the Dark Wallet, former member of the Kurdish YPG militia, as well as Yorick de Mombynes, member of the French Cour des Comptes and co-author of the Sapiens Institute “Bitcoin, Totem and Taboo” report.

Before the conference, they shared with us their perspectives on the political and cultural legacy blockchain technologies inherited from the cypherpunks’ ideals and its relevance today.
