During the academic year 2019-2020, Carolin Beck, Chloé Bertrand, Hannah Milbers, Inaïssa Sylla and Sofietou Sakho, Master’s students at Sciences Po, undertook a collaborative action research project for the NGO Equipop as part of Women Forward International. Their report, titled "Activists and Feminists in Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal: Actions, Stakes, Dynamics" has been rencently released. It provides insight into the activities of feminist movements working towards the rights of women in Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal.

On Friday, October 9, 2020, at 12pm, join us for a discussion with French sociologists Céline Bessière (Université Paris-Dauphine) and Sibylle Gollac (CRESPPA Paris) on their latest book The Gender of Capital / Le Genre du Capital, fruit of twenty years of research. Their presentation will be followed by a discussion with Hélène Périvier, economist at the French Economic Observatory (OFCE) and director of Sciences Po's Gender Studies Programme PRESAGE.

Call for projects: Interdisciplinary evaluation of gender policies

Sciences Po's Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP) is calling for projects, in partnership with Sciences Po's Gender Studies Programme-PRESAGE and the Cité du Genre (FR). This call will contribute towards developing and promoting interdisciplinary academic works evaluating public policies.

Projects can be submitted in English or in French.

A leading Indian environmental activist and feminist, Vandana Shiva received the Alternative Nobel Prize in 1993 for "placing women and ecology at the heart of the debate on modern development".

In her recent essay, 1 % : reprendre le pouvoir face à la toute-puissance des riches (Rue de l’échiquier, 2019) (FR), she examines how the so-called « philanthropy » has become the primary means of bypassing democratic structures, preventing diversity and imposing totalitarian ideas.

The Advanced Certification in Gender Studies is multidisciplinary, as gender studies teaching at Sciences Po. It acknowledges the scientific knowledge acquired throughout the curriculum, regardless of the Master or area of specialty chosen.
