Denis FOUGERE

Bio : Denis Fougère is first-class Research Director at the CNRS (CRIS). He was Co-Director of the LIEPP "Educational Policies" Research Group until December 2018. Specialised in microeconomics and microeconometrics, Denis Fougére is particularly interested in labor economics and education, but also in methods of evaluation. Currently, he works on the determinants of academic outcomes in primary and secondary education, on the evaluation of training systems and pension reforms, on the effects of minimum wage and international trade on wage bargaining and employment, and on the effects of public support for business creation. Denis Fougére is also a scientific adviser to the Ministry of Education, DEPP, a consultant to the Bank of France, a Research Fellow at the CEPR in London, a Research Fellow at the IZA in Bonn and a member of the scientific council CEPREMAP. He is also editor of the IZA Journal of Migration, associate editor of the IZA World of Labor and a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Population Economics and of Economics and Forecasting. He taught for many years at the Ecole Polytechnique and at ENSAE, and today teaches at Sciences Po. He earned a bronze medal from the CNRS in 1994. In 2010, the European Economic Association awarded him the Hicks-Tinbergen medal. His research has been published in Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Public Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Econometrics Journal, et Journal of Population Economics.
