Following a successful 10 -year agreement (2007 -2017), the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and the Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques (Sciences Po) are proud to announce that they have extend ed their strategic partnership and signed a renewal of the agreement for 5 additional years on 28th September 2017 in Paris, France.
The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Sami Mohammad Al -Sulaiman , Kuwait Ambassador to France, Frédéric Mion, President of Sciences Po, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Meshal Hayat of the Permanent Delegation of the State of Kuwait to UNESCO, a representative of the French Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Christian Nakhlé , Dr Adnan Shihab- Eldin , KFAS Director General, Dean Enrico Letta of the Paris School of International Affairs, KFAS Board of Directors and faculty of Sciences Po.
The Kuwait P rogram at Sciences Po is a thriving partnership involving collaboration between faculty, students, poli cy makers and leaders of Kuwait institutions and Sciences Po. The 5 -year renewal (2017 -2022) aims to further advance the development of joint initiatives in the fields of research, teaching, student support, as well as executive education and capacity buil ding. It supports partnerships in diverse fields, dissemination of the programs research findings to a broader audience, and the establishment of academic debates and discussion with Kuwait and the wider region.
On this occasion, Dr Shihab- Eldin said, “ KFAS has always sought excellence and openness to the world to maintain Kuwait as a hub for knowledge exchange. Our long- standing relationship with Sciences Po is exemplar for partnerships built on mutual trust and appreciation. The renewal of the agreement with Sciences Po aspires to deepen the ties between Kuwaiti institutions and Sciences Po, and to provide new capacity -building opportunities to Kuwait’s social scientists and policy makers. ”
From his side President Mion added : “A vivid partnership like the Kuwait Program at Sciences Po pays high tribute to the missions of Sciences Po in the world of higher education and research at the global level. We thank KFAS for their continued support and are proud to pursue our strategic efforts with Kuwait and in the region.”
