Ce double diplôme, c’est deux ans d’abord à Sciences Po Paris : vous serez à Sciences Po un élève on va dire “lambda”, c’est-à-dire en programme général, sur un des campus ou Paris. Les deux années (suivantes), la troisième ou la quatrième, se font à UCL.

Il y a une séléction sur dossier, comme pour beaucoup de programmes, et il y a un test qui s’appelle le TSA, qui est un test, je dirais, de logique, il y a des problèmes de mathématiques, c’est aussi de la langue, c’est en anglais évidement.

Présentez-vous, parlez-nous un peu de vous ; est-ce que vous avez des perspectives de carrière. Finalement, il faut y aller très simplement, il faut se préparer évidement, mais au final c’est vous qu’on cherche et pas un étudiant modèle.

Most people here want to go into diplomacy, I am one of those most people, in so much that I would love to work at the UN or at a think tank. But what is great about Sciences Po is that it definitely opens your eyes to other areas.

Sciences Po, en première année, c’est incroyable. Il y a une ambiance très très très particulière, tout le monde est très motivé, que ce soit au niveau des cours, mais il y a surtout tout le côté associatif qui est très présent. Tout le monde est très engagé. La première année était vraiment incroyable.

Sciences Po: Dual BA Program Program between Columbia University and Sciences Po

This is a unique experiment in undergraduate education at two extraordinarily distinguished universities. A student attends for two years of Sciences Po, and then comes to Columbia for two years and will receive two bachelor’s degrees at the end of four years.

Depending on the campus, they’re going to focus on one region of the world, so if it’s the Menton campus for example, they’ll be focusing on the Middle East and the Mediterranean, while also taking the social science courses like economics, history, law, political science, and any electives that they might take. At Columbia, in their final two years, they’re going to pick a major, which can be one of the seventy that we offer at Columbia, and it can be anything from art history to creative writing to economics and political science, if they want to stay in the social sciences.

I found out about Sciences Po and Columbia having this dual degree, and I knew about both schools and their popularity on a world-wide scale, and so I applied, and I got in — and it’s amazing!

Well, I’m half-Chinese and half-Swedish, I’m from Vancouver, and I’m in the dual BA program between Columbia University and Sciences Po. A large reason why I chose this program, especially in Le Havre which is the Asian campus, is that I get a European experience, a North-American experience, and on top of that an Asian experience here at this campus. I think that is very unique.

You get the best of both worlds, really. You have a small cohort at Sciences Po where you spend two years. And then at Columbia you have the advantages of a large research university in New York City, which is the heart of many industries, including business, literature, as well as diplomacy, with the United Nations headquartered there.

I want to have an international career, like international relations, travel a lot I guess… In foreign affairs I think, either in politics or in private companies, I don’t know… I’m not sure yet.

It’s a program of two years, the first year the students study in Paris, they are integrated in the Master of Sciences Po European Affairs or in the Master of International Affairs. The second year they study in Berlin and there they are integrated in the Master of Political Science.
