Let's pay a tribute to the historic Palais de Justice!
Invitation to visit the historic Palais de Justice
Event held in English. For security reasons, the attendance list is strict and signing up is a commitment to come.
Today, the new Palais de Justice in the Batignolles (17th) officially opens, hosting its first hearings.
We thought it was about time to go and pay a tribute to the historic Palais!
The AJSP is delighted to invite you to visit the historic Palais de Justice (Boulevard du Palais, 75001 Paris) on Wednesday 18 April at 14:30. The event promises to be particularly enriching. We will have the chance to be introduced to the Palais by Patricia Peterson and Yves Ozanam, who will share with us insights about the French legal system, and their passion for the Palais with its anecdotes and intrigues.
Patricia Peterson specialises in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Having practised for 30 years in the Paris office of Linklaters LLP, she has established her own practice focusing mainly on work as an arbitrator. Mrs Peterson teaches at the Sciences Po Law School. She is qualified in four jurisdictions (France, England, Ontario and Quebec).
Yves Ozanam has been an archivist at the Paris bar council (Ordre des Avocats de Paris) for over 30 years. He has published various pieces on the history of the profession. In 2006, he published Le Palais de Justice de Paris, la justice autrement (éditions E dans l'O). Mr Ozanam graduated from l’École de Chartres.
Places are limited. For security reasons, our host is strict on the attendance list and each ticket is nominative. We will be in touch with the attendees to communicate the details to enter the Palais.
