Valerie Smeets

Valerie SMEETS is Professor at the Department of Economics of Aarhus University since January 2008. She is also a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and of the Research Centre for Firms and INdustry Dynamics (FIND). Prior to joining Aarhus, she was Assistant Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, at the Department of Business Administration.

Her research focuses on international trade, organizational economics, industrial economics and personnel economics. She has been awarded a number of important grants, in collaboration with Frederic Warzynski, notably a 2019-2022 grant from the Forskningsrådet for Samfund of Erhverv for the project  Developing New Methodologies for Markup Estimation with Multi-product Firms and a European Commission Horizon 2020 grant for the project Raising EU Productivity: Lessons from Improved Micro Data. 

Valerie SMEETS will present a paper, joint with Jingting FAN and Eunhee LEE, at the next Paris Trade Seminar on the theme:

High-Skill Immigration, Offshore R&D, and Firm Dynamics (read paper)
