Marc IVALDI is Scientific Director at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) - Toulouse School of Economics (TSE). He is also Research Director at the Institut D'Economie Industrielle(IDEI), since 1990, and President-elect of the International Transportation Economics Association (ITEA) since 2016. He is a Research Fellow at CEPR and CESIfo, and Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse. Among his editorial activities he is Member of the Editorial Board of Economics of Transportation, and of the Review of Network Economics. He is also an Academic Affiliate at NERA Economic Consultingand a Member of the Scientific Committee of Toulouse Aerospace Express.

He is specialised in Applied Industrial Organization, and he has mainly studied network and transport service industries (rail, air, energy, telecommunications, banking, information technologies). He is one of the European experts on empirical methods for competition and regulation policy. He has published many articles in prominent academic journals.
