Antoine Camous

Antoine CAMOUS is a Visiting Faculty member for the Winter-Spring Semester, on leave from the University of Mannheim where he is an Assistant Professor.

He is also a member of the Bonn-Mannheim Center for Collaborative Research (CRC TR 224), funded by DFG (German Research Foundation). Economic Perspectives on Societal Challenges - or EPoS - addresses three key societal challenges: equality of opportunity, market regulation, and financial stability.

Antoine CAMOUS’ research interests lie mainly in the fields of macroeconomic theory, fiscal-monetary policy and monetary union.

working on a thesis entitled Tax Evasion and International Regulations, under the supervision of Philippe MARTIN and Vincent VICARD (CEPII). He is also Scientific Advisor at the French Conseil d'Analyse Économique (CAE) and a Research Economist at the Banque de France.

Alessandro Iaria

Alessandro IARIA is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Bristol. He is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a Research Associate at the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS), and a Fellow at the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

His research interests are in Empirical IO and the Economics of Science and Innovation. His work has received a number of grants, including funding through the European Research Council (ERC), the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) and through the Research England Policy Support Fund. In 2012 he was awarded the Royal Statistical Society award for best Empirical IO paper and became a Junior Fellow of the Royal Economic Society.

Alessandro Sforza

Alessandro SFORZA joined the University of Bologna in 2019 as Assistant Professor, shortly after obtaining his Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE). He is also a Research Affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and a Research fellow of CESifo.

His research interests are international trade and organisational economics.

Sergei Guriev elected Foreign Honorary Member of the American Economic Association

The American Economic Association (AEA) announced May 2nd its Award Recipients for 2023. Sergei GURIEV, Sciences Po Provost and Professor at the Department of Economics, was elected Honorary Foreign Member.

These international honorees of distinction are elected by the American Economic Association's Executive Committee upon recommendation from the Honors and Awards Committee.

Established in 1885, the AEA is a non-profit, non-partisan, scholarly association dedicated to the discussion and publication of economics research - notably the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Literature and the AEA Journals. Today the AEA counts more than 20,000+ members from academe, business, government, and consulting groups within diverse disciplines from multi-cultural backgrounds.

Sergei Guriev joined the Department as Full Professor in 2013 after running the New Economic School in Moscow from 2004 to 2013. From 2019 to 2022 he was the Scientific Director of Sciences Po's Master's and PhD programmes in economics. In July, 2022 he was appointed as Sciences Po Provost by the President of Sciences Po.

He is a Senior Fellow of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF), a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and Director of the CEPR Research Policy Network on Populism. In 2016-19, he served as the Chief Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Dr. Guriev’s research interests include contract theory, corporate governance, political economics and labour mobility.
