Tommaso DENTI is Assistant Professor and Salvatore Faculty Fellow in the Economics Department at Cornell. Prior to that he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton, just after having been awarded his PhD in Economics by MIT.
He works on economic theory, game theory, and decision theory, with a particular interest in endogenous information acquisition. Although still early in his academic career, he has already published in top-tier reviews such as Econometrica and the American Economic Review. In 2022, he gave the Jaffray Lecture at the Risk, Uncertainty and Decision (RUD) Conference.

Aureo DE PAULA is Professor of Economics at University College London (UCL). He is also Research staff at CeMMAP, a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a member of the Inequality: Measurement, Interpretation and Policy Network (HCEO), a Research Affiliate at the Population Studies Center (University of Pennsylvania), and a 25th LACEA Anniversary Associate. Among his editorial duties he is currently an Editorial Board Member of the Review of Economic Studies, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Econometrics, of Econometric Reviews, and of The Econometrics Journal.
He is an applied econometrician with strong interests in both methodological questions (identification and estimation of multi-agent models) and empirical applications (mostly problems in developing nations). His research is on the intersection of applied economic theory, econometrics and empirical microeconomics. Internationally acclaimed for his research, he has been awarded dozens of important grants, the most recent being a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Advanced grant for his project Econometrics for the Firm. He was elected Fellow of the Econometric Society and of the International Association for Applied Econometrics. He was a Turing Fellow this past year at the Alan Turing Institute.

Junnan HE is Assistant Professor at the Department since 2019.
He works on model sparsity and variable selection as well as stochastic choice models.His fields of research are econometrics and decision theory, focusing mainly on variable selection in economic models and random choice models.

Kerstin HOLZHEU is Assistant Professor at the Department since 2019 after spending a year as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. She is also an IZA Fellow.
Her work studies labour economics and firm dynamics from the standpoint of applied macroeconomics. In particular, she is interested in the question of employment allocations.

Technological Possibilities, Legal Limits: Algorithms and Regulation
The programme of this one-day event proposes an original approach, combining theory and practice:
- round tables and presentations will explore the legal challenges in relation to the regulation of AI in the presence of Luc Julia, Andrew Rhodes, Jean-Sébastien Borghetti, Alexandre Lallet, Fatou Diallo, Michèle Sebag, Bertrand Thirion, Justine Cassell, Mona Caroline Chammas, Gaspard Koenig, Stephanie Combes, Jean-Marc Vittori;
- a hackathon - Segment me if you can! - open to all, in teams or individually, will invite participants to explore a fictitious but realistic case of a ready-meal delivery platform. The challenge ? Detect which algorithm determines which pricing and thus segments restaurants according to the delivery option they have chosen and which is not displayed.
